I can honestly say that "I have loved trains ever since I can remember." Born on March 5, 1957, my earliest memories of trains included being driven to watch "Ennies" around my home town of Pekin, Illinois or Peoria, Illinois by my Grandmother when I was just 5 years old.
Around 12 years old, I started to try to build models and proceeded to attempt any serious railroad photography a little later in life, when I turned about 20. Even though I had an occupation playing drums with several notable bands and traveled throughout the United States, I really did not have the time to develope my newfound hobby of railroad photography. However, in 1985 I relocated to Las Vegas, NV and since I was no longer touring, I was now provided plenty of time to develope my talent as a photographer.
As often as possible, friends showed me around some of the world famous railroad locations around the southwest United States. On occasions, I also ventured out on my own to explore the various locations of photos that I had seen in books or magazines. Through this, my knowledge of the area grew.
Like most avid photographers, I like to add to my ever growing collection of over 20,000 photos by traveling across the country every chance I get and exploring new railroad locations.
Negotiations are currently underway with publishers to release a series of books with the railfan in mind. I will keep you posted as that exciting news developes.
